About Finca la Prosperidad

The smell of coffee and the sound of running water from the births and down the mountains are memories permeated in my mind since my father took me, as a little girl, to the farm to fertilize and prune the coffee trees, cut the cherries, and put them to dry. For him I was not a fragile girl as the parents of my friends treated them, for my father I was another person who could learn the hard work of the field. This premise grew in me over the years and made me the strong woman that I am now.

As a coffee-loving woman with an over developed sense of courage, I acquired my first coffee farm, despite the reluctance of my then-husband to support me in what he believed would be "a bad investment". I was determined to prove to him that coffee was more than just a business but a source of work for our community, reforestation and habitat for wild animals, the most beautiful views in the flora and fauna season and, of course, the path that was destined for. take. However, this path did not take long to become the greatest challenge of my life.

The unpredictable times and climate change did not take long to bring challenges to our farm: excess humidity led to the spread of rust, a pest that, when not controlled, destroys entire farms. But we knew how to face it with the experience and approach to coffee that characterizes us, we take care of each little tree with love and the wisdom of generations to obtain coffee bathed in purple sunrises and golden sunsets, we water them with water that springs from the top of the mountains and we feed them with the best fertilizer we can produce.

Then, the second challenge would begin: to convince my 4 children to support me and motivate them to continue with the family inheritance that, at this point, finds a total of 4 farms. Although, as time went by, I had to accommodate myself to the idea that each one is destined for something different; so, joy did not fit in me when one of my children chose the path of coffee. However, the four of them are my greatest pride and my support to push me to continue in difficult times.

This is how years later we created our own brand of coffee called Three generations, from my father to my son, three generations of tireless workers, three generations passionate about mountains, rivers, and sunrises, three generations who love coffee.
