The Grounds for Empowerment (GFE) program is pleased to welcome our cohort of women specialty coffee growers - Ramona Diaz, Ivania Calderon, and Alexa Marin - to Georgia for the 2018 Community Forum which features critical coffee industry networking sessions and community events that will boost their skills and their connections to end markets.

Tuesday Coffee @ Goizueta feat. GFE Farmers

Tuesday, October 30th @ 8 - 10AM

Every Tuesday morning, coffee and KIND bars are served in the Goizueta Coca-Cola Commons for students, staff, and faculty to come together. On Oct. 30th, we will be hosting a special Tuesday Coffee @ Goizueta with GFE farmers present. Team members will be providing pour-overs. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the program, about Social Enterprise @ Goizueta, and to meet our amazing farmers face-to-face!

Wednesday, October 31st @ 8:30 - 9:30AM

Join us at Emory University on Wednesday, Oct. 31st for a lecture from Peter Roberts, the academic director of Social Enterprise @ Goizueta and Grounds for Empowerment. GFE’s three women farmers will be participating in a Q&A to answer your questions about coffee farming, business, and more. To help start the day, GFE coffee and seasonal goodies will be provided - all are welcome!

GFE + Love is Love Taking it to the Farm

Thursday, November 1st @ 4:30PM

On Thursday, Nov. 1st, GFE will partner with Love is Love Farm for the annual GFE Taking it to the Farm event at Gaia Gardens. From caterers to chefs and bartenders to beer brewers, food professionals from Atlanta work with us to bring together the GFE community over great food and an important initiative. Our farmers will be in town and in attendance for the Community Forum. All are welcome to attend!

GFE + Counter Culture Public Coffee Cupping

Friday, November 2nd @ 12:30 - 1:30PM

Join Grounds for Empowerment for a public cupping at Counter Culture Coffee's fabulous training center. At the cupping, we will be tasting our GFE farmers' coffees while connecting with Atlanta's growing specialty coffee scene. This is a great opportunity for our farmers to educate the crowd about the intricacies of being a coffee farmer while letting attendees taste the hard work that goes into a cup of coffee.
